Welcome to on the ball proofreading
Hi, I'm Clifford Ball. I am an introverted, born again Christian conservative, currently live in DFW, but originally from Mesa, AZ. I'm attempting to move back to the Phoenix area, where I still have family and a home church that I can go to. The best way I know how to do that, after much prayer, is to bring back my freelance proofreading business now known as "On the Ball Proofreading." I want to serve God by serving fellow Christians who write Christian content that helps to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I want to help you steward your words with excellence for God’s glory, based on Colossians 3:23 KJV: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
One reason I like proofreading is because I enjoy reading and I've been reading since I was four years old (I'm considered a senior citizen now to AARP lol). My parents taught me using a combination of flash cards and phonics. Mom taught preschoolers at church for Sunday school and Beginner's Church, plus she had wanted to be an elementary school teacher at one point. Anyway, by the time I was in sixth grade I learned that I had college level reading and vocabulary skills (too bad that didn't translate to math, science, economics...). In other words, I'm a word nerd and I like pointing out mistakes.
I began freelance proofreading in 2010, but I have proofread various things for family and friends in the many years before 2010. My business in 2010 was known as Digital Writing Services and I proofread a variety of written works - from articles to epic fantasy novels. Due to a family emergency related to my father, I stopped to focus on helping my parents in 2013 and pretty much abandoned the idea of owning my own business.
